This will be an action packed fun course full of pyrotechnic FX tips and tricks. All learning materials will be included with the course including 3D scenes and a very detailed 3D truck model which will be used in dynamics simulation.
The 3D packages used will include Houdini and Maya which are the leading software for FX simulation and 3D animation. Blockbuster Action movies today feature increasingly complex rigid body simulations and destruction VFX so this course will equip you to face the most detailed and intricate large scale simulations of pyrotechnic effects for vehicles.
Maya, Houdini and Nuke will be used in this course to explode a highly detailed truck inspired by the Mad Max: Fury Road Film.įor any FX TD, this course will be fantastic for learning how to destroy vehicles in 3D. While working at The Ambassadors VFX in Amsterdam, Nick stumbled upon Houdini in 2008 and devoted every minute he could spare to learn the software using any available source, including fxphd. However, via work on this project, you will get solid insights into how it all works and will certainly make you appreciate the enormous FX simulations even more when you know how labor and computationally intensive those effects actually are. This course is not intended to recreate that pipeline in a mere ten classes. It is important to remember that feature films use many in-house tools and very extensive RenderFarms to put these enormous effects on screen.
